EGEN's lead clinical candidate, EGEN-001, is an IL-12 plasmid vector formulated with our proprietary TheraPlas™ delivery system forming highly active nanoparticles. This formulation has been optimized for delivery into the local tumor environment leading to cell transfection and secretion of the IL-12 protein. EGEN-001 is currently being used in a number of clinical trials evaluating its use against ovarian and colorectal cancer.
